More students than expected have enrolled in Bainbridge Island schools this fall, district officials reported Thursday.
First-day enrollment numbers for the Bainbridge Island School District show a first day enrollment of 3,700 students. That’s 115 more FTE (full-time equivalent) students than the district had anticipated.

A hole in an Eagle Harbor sewer pipe that sent raw sewage into Puget Sound has been repaired.
Doug Schulze, Bainbridge Island city manager, said early estimates are that between 400,000 and 450,000 gallons of raw sewage spilled into the sound before the damaged pipe was bypassed as a temporary measure.
